Privacy Policy

Praymark ("the app", "we") is a free, non-commercial app for prayer and spiritual life. This policy describes what data the app processes, why, and how you can delete it.

1. Main principle: your data lives on your device

Praymark works offline. All prayer requests, journals, victory and gratitude entries, Bible-reading statistics, and settings are stored in a local database on your device and are never transmitted anywhere unless you turn on the features described below.

Google sign-in is optional. Without signing in, the app is fully functional and collects no personal data. Sign-in and any transfer to the cloud only happen when you turn on backup to Google Drive or share prayers yourself.

2. What data we process, and when

2.1. Google sign-in (optional)

If you sign in with a Google account, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo. These are used only to identify you for backup and shared prayer journal features. Without signing in, the app works fully offline.

2.2. Google Drive backups

At your request, the app creates a backup of your data in a hidden app-specific folder on your Google Drive (the drive.appdata scope). Only Praymark on your devices can access this folder; we have no access to the rest of your Drive, and backup contents never reach our servers.

2.3. Shared journals and prayer groups

If you share a prayer journal or take part in a prayer group, the entries you choose to share (request text, journal entries, "prayed" marks) along with your name are sent to our server and become visible to the participants you shared them with. Only what you explicitly share reaches the server.

2.4. Notifications

Prayer reminders work locally. For notifications about events in shared journals (new entries, answers), the app registers a device push token via the Expo notification service and Firebase Cloud Messaging. The token does not reveal your identity.

2.5. AI features

When you use AI-suggested Scripture, the text of your request is sent to our server for processing and to return a response. Requests are not used for advertising or profiling.

2.6. Crash diagnostics

To fix bugs, the app sends anonymized crash reports and technical diagnostics via the Sentry service (device model, OS and app version, technical error stack). The content of your prayers is not included in these reports.

3. What we don't do

4. Storage and security

Shared journal data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure (Amazon Web Services). All data transfer happens exclusively over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Access to server data is protected by verifying your Google token.

5. Data and account deletion

You are in full control of your data:

6. Children

The app's content is suitable for all ages (rated "for everyone"). However, since sign-in, backup, and prayer-sharing features use a Google account and the cloud, the app is intended for users 13 and older. Younger children may use it without signing in (fully offline, with no data collection) under parental supervision. We do not knowingly collect data from younger children.

7. Changes to this policy

In the event of material changes, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
